Celebrities are bringing surrogacy into the mainstream, and we are here for it 🙌🏼
One of the most high profile celebrities to use surrogacy to build her family is Kim Kardashian and (former) spouse Kanye West. After experiencing health problems during her second pregnancy, Kardashian turned to a surrogate to carry her third and fourth children, daughter Chicago and son Psalm.
Former model Tyra Banks is also a proud mama to a son via surrogacy. Announcing the news with a photo of a baby hat, Banks wrote: “As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world.”
When Cooper announced the birth of his son Wyatt Morgan Cooper in April 2020, he had some beautiful words to share about the surrogacy experience.
"As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son's birth. Most of all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate who carried Wyatt, and watched over him lovingly, and tenderly, and gave birth to him. It is an extraordinary blessing - what she, and all surrogates, give to families who can't have children. My surrogate has a beautiful family of her own, a wonderfully supportive husband, and kids, and I am incredibly thankful for all the support they have given Wyatt and me. My family is blessed to have this family in our lives."
Kidman and spouse Keith Urban have two daughters: Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Kidman gave birth to Sunday in 2008, and used a surrogate for Faith in 2011.
Berkus and spouse Jeremiah Brent are proud parents to children Poppy and Oskar, born via surrogacy.
One of the world's greatest musicians, John and his partner, David Furnish, have two sons. Zachary and Elijah were born via the same surrogate.
