Volvo Leading the Way on Paid Family Leave, Including Surrogacy Journeys 🚘 🏁

Submitted to Surrogacy Stories

Swedish automaker Volvo announced exciting news this week: employees who have worked for the company for a minimum of one year will now have increased parental leave of 24 weeks.

Even more exciting? This paid leave extends to employees of any gender who become parents through surrogacy.

In an interview with CNBC, Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson noted that this new policy "[is] something we believe is setting a new standard in the business. We do this, not to introduce some kind of new favorable benefit to our employees, we do it more because we think it's good for our company. We will be more attractive as an employer. There's a competition going on for talent."

Bravo to Volvo for implementing this progressive new policy, and leading the industry into the future!
