After experiencing preeclampsia during her first pregnancy, VanderPump Rules star Scheana Shay told US Weekly that she and fiance Brock Davis are considering surrogacy in the future.
"I'll be turning my eggs into embryos and considering a surrogate, considering adopting or considering taking our chances," Shay, 36, recently told Us Weekly. "We're not gonna even think about it until after [daughter] Summer's 1st birthday."
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, preeclampsia is a serious disorder that can affect all organs in a woman’s body. It usually develops after 20 weeks of pregnancy, often in the third trimester. When it develops before 34 weeks of pregnancy, it is called early-onset preeclampsia. It also can develop in the weeks after childbirth.
