Designer Sarah LaFleur, founder of M.M.LaFleur, started IVF in 2017.

In this People magazine article, LaFleur notes that as she pursued IVF without success, she decided to simultaneously look into surrogacy — only to find out she was pregnant shortly before successfully transferring two embryos to her surrogate.

"Honestly, there was this moment when we found out that [our surrogate] was carrying twins where I was like, 'Holy s---, we might end up with three,' " she continued. "It miraculously ended up working out."

She and her partner welcomed their son in August, and in September, her surrogate delivered twins, a girl and a boy.
